چکیده

Rattan Calamus spp. is a high commercial value palm from the subfamily Calamoideae primary source for cane in well-developed rattan industry. Most studies on have focused its biodiversity, distribution, quality, strength, physical, mechanical, and morphological properties genetics. Still, only few investigated association of with arbuscular mycorrhizal (AM) fungi. These fungi are well known to play essential functions as promoting plant growth, maintaining community biodiversity nutrient cycles soil. This study aims identify established AM their ecological interactions Belum-Temengor Forest Complex, Perak, Malaysia. roots rhizospheric soil samples were collected six sampling sites one oldest rainforests world. The degree colonisation was evaluated using grid lines method. At same time, spore diversity soils isolated wet sieving method identified taxonomically analysed into different genera. insignis showed highest amongst all present sites. spores Complex belonged genera Acaulospora, Entrophospora, Gigaspora, Glomus, Scutellospora. Glomus most frequently found genus first record fungal Complex.

Arbuscular Mycorrhizal Fungi and Alien Plant Species

The invasion success of alien plant species depends, amongst other things, on their functional traits [4] and the susceptibility of ecosystems. There is now increasing interest in including biotic interactions particularly mutualistic associations [5], into frameworks assessing alien plant invasions, as they help bridge the invisibility and invasiveness features. The great majority of terrestri...

Arbuscular mycorrhizal mycelial respiration in a moist tropical forest.

*Arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi (AMF) are widespread in tropical forests and represent a major sink of photosynthate, yet their contribution to soil respiration in such ecosystems remains unknown. *Using in-growth mesocosms we measured AMF mycelial respiration in two separate experiments: (1) an experiment in a semi-evergreen moist tropical forest, and (2) an experiment with 6-m-tall Pseudobombax...
